In-Edit Barcelona and Kickstarter are teaming up to launch “In-Progress”, an international open-call for music documentary creators that are looking for additional funding to finalize their projects. Applications will be open starting the end of October, coinciding with the presentation of “In-Progress” within the framework of the Festival. Christoph Nagel, Senior International Manager in Europe at Kickstarter, will be in charge of presenting this collaboration.
At the beginning of next year, between 3 and 5 projects will be selected and will receive support from Kickstarter and In-Edit to build and promote their campaign, with the aim of presenting their projects at In-Edit 2020 in Barcelona. Kickstarter’s mission has always been to help bring unique projects to life. The international crowdfunding platform has been used for documentaries shown in past editions of the Festival such as Beautiful Noise, Tangerine Dream, Suzanne Ciani: A Life in Waves or They will have to kill us first: Malian Music in Exile, to name just a few.
This first collaboration between In-Edit and Kickstarter is a first step towards creating a long term alliance that aims to support, give visibility and inspire new talents in the field of music documentary.
