INTERNATIONAL PANORAMA
This is not just a Depeche Mode concert. Yes, the film captures the three sold-out shows the legendary English synth-pop band performed at Mexico City’s Foro Sol in September 2023 before 200,000 fans. But it also weaves the presentation of Memento Mori—their first album after the unexpected death of Andy Fletcher—together with reflections on death in Mexican cultural identity. From the Aztec god Mictlantecuhtli to the Day of the Dead, through the voices of poets and concertgoers, it charts a journey that connects mythology, contemporary art, and music. An unclassifiable experience where Depeche Mode’s reinvention enters into dialogue with Mexico’s spirituality and collective imagination.
