Alejo Stivel

Argentinian singer, composer, and producer, he was the lead singer of the band Tequila. As a producer he has worked with Nacho Cano, Joaquín Sabina, La Oreja de Van Gogh and El Canto del Loco. In 2007 he presented the musical show Soulería with the singer Pitingo and in 2011 he released the album "Decíamos ayer", with collaborations with Pereza, Carlos Tarque (M Clan) and Ramón Arroyo (Los Secretos). In 2013 he closed his legendary studio ASK to focus on his solo career, with albums such as "Yo era un animal" (2017).

Álvaro Longoria

Álvaro Longoria

A documentary producer and director born in Santander in 1968, Álvaro is one of the founders of Morena Films. In 2013 he won the Goya for Best Documentary with "Hijos de las nubes (Made in Spain)" and since then, he has directed "The Propaganda Game", shot in North Korea and nominated for a Goya, "Dos Cataluñas", "Ni distintos ni diferentes, Campeones" and "Santuario", starring the Bardem brothers.

Ariel Jiménez Portuondo

Ariel Jiménez Portuondo

Cuban manager and music producer. Son of the singer Omara Portuondo, he’s been her manager since 1990 and the producer of four of her albums, which have earned him a Grammy Award and four nominations. For 15 years, he was part of the Buena Vista Social Club project as producer of all their albums and concerts.

Ariel Rot

Guitarist, singer, composer and producer of rock and blues music, born in Buenos Aires in 1960 and based in Spain since 1976. He was a member of the band Tequila and later of Los Rodríguez. He has also collaborated with artists such as Extremoduro, Jaime Urrutia, Sergio Makaroff and Andrés Calamaro. His latest solo album is "La Manada" (2016).

Bob Smeaton

Bob Smeaton

English director and screenwriter of documentaries on music and art, winner of two Grammy Awards and three Emmy nominations. Known for his work on series such as "Beatles Anthology" and "Classic Albums" as well as the film "Jimi Hendrix Band of Gypsies". In 2004 he wrote the acclaimed documentary "Festival Express" (with Janis Joplin, Grateful Dead and The Band). He has worked with artists of the caliber of The Who, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Queen, Nirvana, Mark Knopfler, and Spice Girls. At In-Edit 2022 he premieres the documentary "Travelin' Band: Creedence Clearwater Revival at the Royal Albert Hall".

BRUNA

BRUNA

A cooperative founded in 2017 with the aim of generating audiovisuals with a critical perspective and capable of giving a voice to those who have been deprived of it. It has made and produced feature-length documentaries such as "Después de las ocho" (2020) and now premieres at In-Edit with "No Callarem" (2022). In recent years, it has become a landmark production company for producing campaigns with a vocation for social transformation in Barcelona and aims to continue building stories that challenge the status quo through fiction and non-fiction.

Coque Malla

Coque Malla

Singer, guitarist, and composer from Madrid, between 1987 and 1997 he was the frontman of the successful rock band Los Ronaldos. His later solo career included albums such as "La hora de los Gigantes'', "Termonuclear", "El último hombre en la Tierra" and the duet project "Mujeres". In 2019 he received the Goya for best original song for "Este es el momento" (from the film "Campeones"), and this year he’s been presenting the musical "Mi nombre es Coque Malla".

Cristina y Maria José Martín

Two sisters born in Granada, who in 2013, founded the production company Lasdelcine. Creators of the documentaries "Fito & Fitipaldis: 20 años y una noche", "En Granada es posible" about the city's music scene and "Las calles siguen ardiendo" about MClan. They have also made music videos, commercials and two short fiction films: "Mi hermano Juan" and "De menos". At In-Edit they will present their latest venture as scriptwriters, directors, and producers: the documentary "Jorge" about the life of Coque Malla.

Danny Garcia

Danny Garcia

A documentary filmmaker from Barcelona, Danny started out writing for the music press and making short documentaries for Betevé (Barcelona Public Television). He’s the brains behind punk-rock docs like "The Rise and Fall of The Clash", "Looking for Johnny" (on Johnny Thunders of the New York Dolls) and "Sad Vacation" (about Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen). Having already presented "Self-Sufficient" (2016), about Parálisis Permanente and Eduardo Benavente, and "Rolling Stone: Life and Death of Brian Jones (2019) at In-Edit, this year he’s here with "Nightclubbing: The Birth of Punk Rock and NYC", about Max's Kansas City nightclub.

David Castellà

David Castellà

Born in Berga in 1974, David studied art and design and is passionate about comics and music. At the beginning of 2018, driven by creative desire, he embarked with his friends from WCROCK on the making of the first documentary about the now defunct Rocksound concert hall in Barcelona.

DJ Amable

DJ Amable

A legendary DJ in the city of Barcelona, he began his professional career in Depósito Legal (L'Hospitalet de Llobregat) in 1985. After playing in Barcelona clubs and discos such as Compliche, Bikini and Final, he founded Sala A Saco in L'Hospitalet in 1991. There, he established himself as a DJ of alternative music and in 1994 he moved the club to the macro-room Zeleste until its closure in 2000. After its reopening as Razzmatazz, he is the resident DJ at Razz Club, the main club. As well as playing in countless clubs all over Spain, he has remixed bands like Love of Lesbian, Lori Meyers, Catpeople, Mendetz or Sidonie and since 2013, he has been collaborating with Monoculture as a singer on some of their songs.

The director and scriptwriter duo have been collaborating for 15 years on numerous Canal+ programs such as "Tentaciones" and "Las caras de la noticia". In recent years, they have made various music programs for Movistar+: "Pop, una historia de música y televisión", "Canciones que cambiaron el mundo", "El poder de la música", "Una historia, una canción" and "Melódico".

Fernando León de Aranoa

A director, screenwriter and producer hailing from Madrid, Fernando studied image at the Complutense University of Madrid. His career as a filmmaker began with the short film "Sirenas" and with the feature film "Familia" (which earned him a Goya for best new director in 1996). Recognized for acclaimed and award-winning social dramas such as "Barrio" (1998), "Los Lunes al Sol" (2022), "Princesas" (2005) and "El buen patrón" (2021), he has also made documentaries such as "Caminantes" (2001), "Sabina" (2010) and "Política, Manual de instrucciones" (2016).

J. Kevin Swain

J. Kevin Swain

A native of South-Central Los Angeles, J. Kevin’s passion for music led him to direct music videos in the ‘90s for hip-hop artists like Eazy-E (NWA), Tupac, OutKast and Busta Rhymes. He has also worked with Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Run DMC, Greenday and Quincy Jones. Throughout his career, he has produced documentaries on Tupac and Wynton Marsalis, and co-directed the episode of the VH1 Rock Docs series dedicated to the TV show "Soul Train: The Hippest Trip in America" (2010), which we bring back this year as part of our 20th Anniversary Special.

Journalist and musician. Director of the podcast Carne Cruda. Javier previously worked at Radio 3 and Cadena SER. In the latter and in M80, he has co-hosted "De nueve a nueve y media" and "No somos nadie" respectively. He has also hosted "Esta mañana con Pepa Bueno" on TVE and was a scriptwriter for "CQC" on La Sexta. Somehow or other, he also finds time to devote to music, currently as a member of the band Forastero. He has published stories in two books and released four albums with different groups.

Joan Bover Raurell

A documentary filmmaker and producer born in Vic, Joan is a member of the Catalan Film Academy and founder of the production company Far Visuals. Producer of music videos, TV shows and documentaries, two of his works, the short documentaries "Kyoko" (seen at In-Edit) and "Ulises", were both nominated for Goya Awards. His work has been selected for prestigious festivals such as Bogoshorts (Colombia) and Hot Docs (Canada). This year, he is with us once again with his latest short film: "Dear Michael".

Jorge Rodríguez

Jorge Rodriguez

This Catalan filmmaker and editor trained in film directing at CECC. In addition to working in music videos, advertising, and television, he has edited fiction feature films such as "Negro Buenos Aires" and "Amor Col·lateral". He co-directed the documentary "Citizen Fernando Gallego: Dance or Die" about DJ Nando Dixkontrol, which won Best National Documentary at In-Edit 2017. "Studio 54" is his second feature-length documentary.

Lulu Martorell

Lulu Martorell

A filmmaker and scriptwriter from Barcelona, Lulu has worked for TVE, TV3 and Betevé. She specializes in art and audiovisual culture, documentary portraits of artists and social commitment. In 2007 she directed "Pobres Pobres que els donguin pel cul" with Albert Pla on the work of Pepe Sales, which won at In-Edit that same year. Her latest ventures include: "Alcelobert", a documentary series for Betevé, "La Pasión según Pepe Sales" at Konvent de Berga, and "Keith Haring 1989 Barcelona", seen at In-Edit 2019. She has recently written a film adaptation of the novel "Un film (3000 metres)" by Víctor Català and completed the music documentary "Material Sirles".

Marcos Cabotá

Marcos Cabotá

Director and screenwriter from Palma de Mallorca. Twice nominated for the Goya Awards and twice winner of the Malaga Film Festival, he is the creator of films such as "Amigos", "I Am Your Father" and "Noctem" and short films such as "24 Horas con Lucía" and "Kyoko" (presented at In-Edit). This year he visits us for two reasons: as the director of "Sonic Fantasy", about the recording of Michael Jackson's "Thriller", and as the inspiration behind the short film "Dear Michael".

Marina Espinach

Marina Espinach

Born in Barcelona in 1994, Marina graduated in directing and screenwriting from Bande à Part and in Anthropology from Barcelona University. Her first short film, "Cuando acabe el verano", was selected for the Shortcat2020 catalog and won an award in the New Authorship section of the Sitges Festival. This year she made "Women in the Studio'' during her time at Ladradora, a Barcelona agency that promotes female musical talent. She is currently combining new projects as a filmmaker with studying Visual Anthropology and Ethnographic Film at the University of Manchester.

Mark Cunningham

Mark Cunningham

Mark Cunningham (New Jersey, 1952) began his musical career on the New York No Wave scene in the 1970s with one of its groundbreaking groups, Mars, playing bass and guitar. In the 80's -already incorporating trumpet and electronics- he was part of the city's improv scene and since 1991 he has been based in Barcelona. Along the way, he has participated in countless projects with Arto Lindsay, Christian Marclay, Rudolph Grey, Etant Donnes, Genesis P. Orridge, Pascal Comelade, Pierre Bastien, Jakob Draminsky, Murcof, Philippe Petit and Lydia Lunch, as well as heading his own bands Don King, Raeo, Convolution, Bèstia Ferida and currently Blood Quartet. His recent endeavours include the 2020 solo album "Odd Songs" and a forthcoming LP recorded during confinement, "Blue Mystery."

Marti Sales

A writer, translator and musician born in Barcelona in 1979, Maeti holds a degree in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature from the UB. He became known in the literary field with the collection of poems "Huckleberry Finn" (Vila de Lloseta poetry prize, 2005). With "Dies feliços a la presó" he entered the field of narrative and in 2012 he published "Ara és el moment", about the Catalan independent music scene. He has been the singer and guitarist of the punk band Els Surfing Sirles and has collaborated with Maria Rodés and Ramón Rodríguez. In 2016, he published La cremallera, a 700-verse poem in homage to Uri Caballero of the Surfing Sirles. In 2021, he released "Aliment", an illustrated gastronomic dictionary, and in 2022 he won the Sonor award for best conversational podcast for Fans de l'Alcover-Moll.

Michael P. Aust

A German film producer and cultural event organizer, Michael runs the music and conference festival SoundTrack_Cologne (which he founded in 2004) and SoundTrack_Zurich (since 2020). Head of the production company TelevisorTroika GmbH (Cologne), he has more than 25 years of experience making films and documentaries such as "101 Reykjavik", "Parallax Sounds Chicago", "Stumbling Block" and "The Sound of Cologne". At In-Edit 2022, he presents "CAN and Me", his portrait of musician Irmin Schmidt.

Nacho Ruíz

Active since 2002, he is already a classic of the Barcelona night. As resident DJ of the Sidecar club has become a benchmark of the alternative scene, combining his eclectic DJ sets with live performances with Ladilla Rusa and collaborations in various audiovisual projects, such as the radio program “Sábanas con Chinchetas”.

Omara Portuondo

Omara Portuondo

Legendary singer of son, boleros, jazz, and traditional Cuban songs whose career spans more than 7 decades and has earned her nicknames such as "la novia del feeling" or "la sonera mayor". After forming part of the D'Aida quartet and sharing the stage with Pedro Vargas, Nat King Cole, Edith Piaf, and Benny Moreno, she rocketed to world fame with her 17-year long participation in the "Buena Vista Social Club" project together with artists such as Rubén González, Cachaito, Guajiro, Aguaje, Compay Segundo and Ibrahim Ferrer. In recent years, she hasn’t stopped recording, touring and reaping recognition for her prodigious voice, which we will have the privilege of hearing live in Hall 5 of the Aribau Multicines.

Pol Penas is a director from Barcelona who works in the advertising and documentary fields. In the field of music, he has collaborated with different artists and record labels, with "Odd Songs" with Mark Cunningham being his most personal project.

Rafa Albarrán

Rafa Albarrán

Born in Barcelona in 1976, Rafa studied electronics and telecommunications, and in parallel, completed courses in television, sound, and audiovisual communication. A music and film lover, he has been working at Televisió de Catalunya since 2001 as an audiovisual systems technician. In 2018, he started working with WCRock in the making of his first documentary, about the now defunct underground venue Rocksound.

Raúl Orellana

Raúl Orellana

Born in Granada, Raúl Orellana has spent most of his career in the Barcelona nightlife scene. Between 1982 and 1994, he was resident DJ at the emblematic discotheque Studio 54. During the same period, he produced records by Azúcar Moreno, remixed Tam Go, Rebeldes and Gabinete Caligari, produced some 15 compilations for various independent dance companies (such as "Bolero Mix" or "Studio 54 Connection") and released his own tracks such as "Gypsy Rhythm" (with Jocelyn Brown) and "Guitarra" (no. 2 in the UK charts). He subsequently held senior positions at labels such as Dance Net, RCA, and Blanco y Negro. He currently plays in clubs such as Tito's, Tiffany’s Menorca, La Terrrazza, Salsitas, Opium Mar and Café del Mar Barcelona.

Ron Mann

This Canadian documentary producer and director has been documenting alternative culture for over 40 years, focusing on visionaries and outsiders. He is known for works such as "Poetry in Motion'', "Comic Book Confidential", "Twist" and "Grass". He has previously graced us with his presence at In-Edit as producer of "I Called Him Morgan" (Best Documentary in 2016) and as director of "Carmine Street Guitars" (2018). This year he brings us a short film about the rock band The Sadies.

Sebastián Alfie

Sebastián Alfie

A director, producer and screenwriter from Buenos Aires, Sebastian’s first three short films won numerous local and international awards. His feature documentary "Gabor" (2013) won the Silver Biznaga for Best Director and the Audience Award at the Malaga Festival. Last year he premiered "Diego, el último adiós", about the last year of Maradona's life, on HBOMAX. At In-Edit 2022, he will present the documentary "El Káiser de la Atlántida".

Tania Lozano

Journalist and currently known as the vocalist for Ladilla Rusa. Since their birth, basically as a joke with his friend Victor Clares, Ladilla Rusa have become a phenomenon with millions of views of their video clips and standard-bearers of the party and fun within the Spanish scene with their cocktail of techno-rumba, Italo disco and electronic punk.
