In-Edit Festival promotes young talent with Acció>Cinema

The In-Edit Festival is once again backing the “Talent / Acció>Cinema” initiative, a documentary music short film workshop aimed at young people aged between 18 and 25. This training programme is part of the Acció>Cinema programme, which promotes audiovisual storytelling as a tool for transformation and for building a critical, active, and human rights-conscious citizenry.

The workshop includes sessions on documentary scriptwriting, music rights in audiovisual projects, and discussions on social and gender issues, as well as the complete development of audiovisual pieces that will be showcased within the official programme of the In-Edit Festival. This is an opportunity for new young voices to express themselves through musical documentary film and connect with the reality that surrounds them.

Acció>Cinema is an initiative promoted by Catalunya Film Festivals, in collaboration with the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation under the Department of Foreign Action and European Union, and in partnership with Lafede.cat. The project also receives support from the Department of Culture and is carried out in collaboration with the Reteena Festival, AVisual , and Festival Cruïlla.

In line with this commitment, the 23rd edition of the festival features titles that highlight the power of documentary film to raise awareness and promote a more critical and mobilised society:

  • La salsa vive
  • Half Moon
  • El canto de las manos
  • Queer as punk
  • Sun Ra: Do the Impossible
  • Pauline Black: A 2 Tone Story
  • Brasiliana: o musical negro que apresentou o Brasil ao mundo
  • Esto es Raptor House
  • La 42
  • Yo no canto por cantar

Through this initiative, In-Edit reaffirms its commitment to be much more than just a showcase of music documentaries: it aims to be a space for reflection, empathy, and social engagement through culture.
