In the summer of 1961, a group of young Italian anthropologists made a clandestine trip to Spain with the aim of recording popular songs in support of the anti-Franco resistance. As a result of their work, they were prosecuted and their recordings were censored. Sixty years later, thanks to 92-year-old Emilio Jona, the last surviving member of that group of travellers, Pablo Gil Rituerto has recovered the previously unheard recordings and reconstructed the journey, today, through an emotional and political landscape, recovering historical memories through these songs, which are as relevant today as they were then.
