In-Edit Lab reveals the professional lineup for its new edition

From October 23rd to November 2nd, In-Edit Lab will become a professional platform dedicated to music documentaries, offering a program designed for reflection, learning, and exchange: a space that welcomes audiovisual professionals and new talents seeking to make their way in the industry.

This year, In-Edit Lab will organise more than fifteen activities for general public and the industry. There will be three highlight sessions: Jean-Cosme Delaloye, director of Desire: The Carl Craig Story, will give a masterclass based on his experience directing documentaries; a conversation with director Cris Trenas, from the film company Little Spain, where she will share her projects and the working approach at their most known documentaries such as Esta ambición desmedida and La guitarra flamenca de Yerai Cortés; and a session led by Joan Rosés, editor of Observatori Switch, focusing on documentary archiving and audiovisual creation with artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

The premiere of the show “Tot Paisatge És Una Mentida” will also be held on October 14th at Paral·lel 62. The concert will feature the musical group Gambardella and poet Martí Sales, in collaboration with visual artists to produce a transmedia performance with a specially composed soundtrack to accompany audio and audiovisual recordings. This concert will be complemented by a panel discussion on October 30th at 12:00 p.m. in the same Sala Club at Paral·lel 62, where the theatrical activation of archives, the connection between audiovisual and live arts, and new forms of contemporary creation will be discussed in relation to the show “Tot Paisatge És Una Mentida” (Every Landscape Is a Lie). The participants will include Toni L. Querol (In-Edit), Víctor Jiménez (BitLab), and the members of Insectotrópicos, Maria Thorson (producer) and Laia Ribas (audiovisual director).

In-Edit Lab will also be the space to present projects born from the Festival’s promotion of young talent. On the one hand, there is the Talent program, an activity framed within the Acció>Cinema project, which highlights audiovisual media as an effective tool for social transformation, contributing to building critical citizenship. Within this framework, a group of young people have made their first music documentary, with the support of Catalunya Film Festivals in collaboration with the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation, the Cruïlla festival, AVisual, and Reteena.

The Contraplà project, developed this year with children and adolescents from the Sant Cosme neighborhood, will also be presented. It was promoted by Catalunya Film Festivals with the support of the Barcelona Provincial Council through the Department of Social Sustainability, Life Cycle, and Community, and the Department of Culture. Pantalla en Viu, an initiative that offers a first professionalization experience to recent graduates in the audiovisual field, promoted jointly with the Audiovisual Cluster of Catalonia and with the collaboration of 3Cat, will also be presented.

In addition, professional meetings will be organized between audiovisual production companies that are members of ProDocs—such as Minoria Absoluta, Nanouk Films, Del Barrio, BAS Broadcaster, Playlab, La Manchester, Digital Films, Vampire, 3Cat, and In-Edit Films—and music agents selected by the Vic Live Music Market, with the aim of promoting new music documentaries. A session will also be held between producers and students of the Master’s Degree in Soundtrack Composition and Music for Audiovisual Media from the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC), with the aim of promoting future productions and supporting emerging talent.

It’s worth noting that, as part of its commitment to internationalizing talent, In-Edit will act as a bridge to film festivals around the world, opening up new opportunities for local creators. In 2025, a collaboration has been established with the FICG – Guadalajara International Film Festival: its professional market will host a documentary promoted by In-Edit to foster its international promotion.
