In-Edit Festival and Sala Apolo Launch ‘CineClub 113’: Summer Monday Nights

On summer Mondays, the meeting point for music documentary lovers is 113 Nou de la Rambla Street. From July 6 to August 31, La (3), Sala Apolo’s only open-air venue, hosts CineClub 113, a series of nine music documentaries accompanied by nine outdoor DJ sessions.

The programme opens with La 42, winner of In-Edit 2025, and traces a journey through Latin music and club culture, spanning Santo Domingo, Cali, Havana, Caracas, Rotterdam, rural England in the 1990s, and the working-class dance floors of the Maresme region.

Each screening is accompanied by a DJ set tied to the film’s sonic universe: dembow for La 42, psychedelic chichadelia for La Danza de Los Mirlos, raptor house for the documentary on DJ Babatr, and mákina for the collective portrait MaQKina. The documentary’s sound spills into the booth, and the crowd moves from the dancefloor to the cinema without changing the story. La Porca, a nearby restaurant, takes care of the food for those who’d like to have dinner while watching the film.

The selection explores the genealogies of the dance floor. It brings together 1990s gabber from Rotterdam and travelling free parties across the English countryside, Mediterranean italo disco and Cali salsa, underground reggaetón from Santiago de Cuba during the hardships of the Special Period, and the Valencian and Catalan mákina scene as a working-class subculture. The documentaries have been featured at international festivals and include works by directors such as José María Cabral, Álvaro Luque, Juan Carvajal, Aaron Trinder and Alessandro Melazzini.

CineClub 113 is part of the partnership announced last May between the In-Edit Festival and Sala Apolo, which also includes the new Apolo Award for Best Music Video. Open to both national and international submissions, the award celebrates the creative talent behind the music video format. The videos selected by a professional jury will be screened during In-Edit Barcelona 2026, and the winner will be announced at the festival’s closing ceremony. Submissions are open until September 1, 2026 (rules and entry details available online). The 24th edition of In-Edit Barcelona will take place from October 29 to November 8, 2026.
