SOUNDS OF BARCELONA by Moritz
A profound and choral look at the birth of a unique musical work: the Symphony of the Angels, composed by Albert Guinovart and premiered in 2024 at the Palau de la Música Catalana. The piece, jointly commissioned by the Palau and the Franz Schubert Filharmonia, commemorates the centenary of the legendary Barcelona-born soprano Victoria de los Ángeles. The documentary shows the phases of conception, rehearsals with the orchestra—conducted by Tomàs Grau—, creative decisions, and shared emotions. Beyond a simple making-of, it is an exploration of the dialogue between music and memory, between individual inspiration and collective work, between the mythical figure of an unrepeatable soprano and the desire to update her spirit in the form of a symphony.
