In the 1960s, the then-modest fishing village of Torremolinos turned into a small oasis of freedom and a breeding ground for rock and roll in Spain. At the height of the Francoist dictatorship, the Costa del Sol became a haven where young rebels, artists, and tourists embraced modernity to the rhythm of electric guitars. This evocative and luminous road movie seamlessly weaves together valuable archival footage with testimony from pioneers such as Los Íberos, Storm, Gong, or Los Silvers. The film contrasts—in a reflective and radiant manner—the hedonism of that cultural explosion (which was, in truth, an exercise in supervised freedom) with memory and the inevitable passage of time.
