A treasure of found footage saved from oblivion when filmmaker Tamra Davis rescued boxes of old Hi8 tapes from last year’s Malibu fires. Later, she realized they contained recordings from the 1995 Summersault tour across Australia and Southeast Asia, shared by Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth, Foo Fighters, Beck, Pavement, Rancid, The Amps, and Bikini Kill right at the peak of the alt-rock explosion. With the innocence and spontaneity of a home video camera, the film moves through airplanes, buses, hotels, dressing rooms, and improvised basketball courts without any artificiality, offering an uninhibited portrait of camaraderie among musicians. Interviews conducted by Kathleen Hanna are interspersed with raw, genuine live performances. An exceptional time capsule capturing the essence of an unrepeatable generation.
