The story of the very first hip-hop club in Los Angeles and the vital role it played in shaping the early West Coast scene. Through this unique venue, the documentary revisits a crucial and often forgotten moment in cultural history, when hip-hop, electro, nightlife, and urban politics collided in early 1980s Los Angeles. Featuring testimony from key voices of that era—including Ice-T, Chris The Glove, Egyptian Lover, and the club’s core founders (which included French representation as well as a member of the electropunk group Screamers!)—this fast-paced, entertaining, and eye-opening documentary restores this legendary club to its rightful place in the broader history of hip-hop.
