A journey into the inner world of Montgat rapper Baya Baye. Straddling the line between documentary and music video, the tracks from his album with producer Viktor Pizza become chapters in an intimate portrait. The creative process, a tumultuous period in his life, the origins of the concept of “macarrisme català” (Catalan grittiness), and family memory: the film searches for the roots of a way of doing and thinking. His grandfather emerges as the reflective voice of a story spanning generations, connecting Baya Baye’s universe with Catalan culture, language, territory, and an enduring popular memory. And always present, the duality of the title: “faves” (fava beans, but also a blow or a slap in Catalan slang), the tough, visceral side, and “tendres” (tender), the sweet, sensitive face. The motto of his crew before heading out to cause a stir: “Divendres, faves tendres!” (Friday, tender beans!).
