“El Doble” is an entertainment show directed by Carlo Padial that follows Jordi Cubino, a successful music producer and former 1980s international Italo disco star under the name David Lyme. Aiming to reclaim his past and return to the stage, Cubino embarks on an unusual project: to find and train a young body double to embody a new version of his alter ego. Across three episodes, the program portrays the selection process, training, and transformation of the chosen candidate, while the film crew attempts to uncover the real personality of an elusive and controlling protagonist. Blending humor, contradictions, and surreal moments, the story reflects on fame, identity, the passage of time, and second chances.
