The film takes us from Harlem to Paris, through Atlanta, Houston, Puerto Rico, and Tokyo, introducing us to an alternative, original star system: DJs like Ron G, Kid Capri, Doowop, Enuff, Clue, Drama, and Whoo Kid. It reveals how, with creativity and resilience, a subculture that traveled on tapes, hand to hand, ended up at the very center of global culture.
