This collective celebration of DJ Amable’s 40-year career also pays tribute to Barcelona’s ’90s indie nightlife scene, of which he unwittingly became an essential bastion. The story begins in pioneering venues in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, such as Fanzine, Compliche, and Depósito Legal (true breeding grounds for DJs), and peaks at A Saco Zeleste and Razzmatazz in Barcelona, where Amable perfected his virtuosic and unique style of blending “guitar music” (indie, grunge, shoegaze, pop, melodic hardcore) with dance electronic beats that has led him to hold sessions in clubs and festivals all over the Peninsula until the current “Common People” sessions in Razzmatazz. A journey marked by humility and professionalism that reshaped the way Barcelona lived by night.
