In March 1977, Waldo de los Ríos, the composer of ‘A Song of Joy’, was found dead with two shotgun blasts to the face. This film deciphers the secrets behind the public figure of the Argentine pianist, composer, and orchestra conductor who had been living in Spain since the 1960s. Private films, photos, letters, and audio tapes reveal a life of fame, luxury, passion, homophobia, esotericism, depression, and obsessive relationships. And they help us understand how the successful adapter of Mozart and Beethoven to pop, and author of cult TV and film soundtracks (Who Can Kill a Child?, Curro Jiménez) turned his life into a requiem.
