SPECIAL SCREENING
In a small coastal town in northern Korea, 25-year-old Soo-Ha lives trapped in routine, divided between the guesthouse where she works and visits to her fishmonger mother. The arrival of Yan, a French graphic novelist in search of inspiration, stirs questions within her about her identity and the absent father she never knew. Through simple gestures — cooking, drawing — the two build a fragile yet profound bond. Based on the award-winning novel by Elisa Shua Dusapin, Koya Kamura’s debut feature is an intimate and sensory portrait of desire, loneliness, and the possibility of connection between two souls searching for one another without words.
In collaboration with the Music & Cinema Marseille (MCM) festival, during whose professional activities director Koya Kamura met the film’s composer, Delphine Malausséna.
