In 2022, after years of playing solo in small venues, Lichis surprised everyone by announcing a short reunion tour with the project that had taken him to the top: La Cabra Mecánica, a band of the late 90s and early 2000s that blended rumba, pop, and singer-songwriter traditions with streetwise lyrics. Songs like “La lista de la compra” or “Felicidad” became generational anthems, while leaving behind the lingering question of an unexpected farewell. The film follows this brief but revealing return, opening an intimate window into the struggles of a singer-songwriter with the soul of a bluesman, who longed to escape his roguish rumba persona. Between memories and confessions, we witness a human portrait that speaks of vulnerability, stubbornness, integrity, and the hard task of “overcoming disillusionment.”
