IN-EDIT LAB
The 2nd edition of BASS–Barcelona Arts Summer School for emerging young talents from around the world offered a space for creation, experimentation, and mentorship for projects exploring new ways of connecting image, sound, body, technology, and experience. Out of this came 10 projects, each with its own language and sensibility, shaped by questions surrounding identity and what conditions us, our relationship with others, with time and memory, with emptiness, with perceived reality, and with the structures—visible or invisible—that we inhabit.
The BASS X In-Edit session will begin with the screening of an audiovisual piece bringing together synthesis-images of these projects. Following this, creators, organizers, and mentors will share the journey behind the works with the audience: the initial intuitions, questions, decisions, challenges, and discoveries that transformed them along the way. They will discuss how an idea evolves when shared, the relationship between creation and mentorship, and what it means to take part in a collective creation process without knowing its outcome in advance.
The audience will thus become part of an essential phase of the process: the moment when the works cease to belong solely to those who created them and begin to trigger new interpretations, questions, and experiences. A session to watch, listen, and engage in dialogue about everything that happens while an idea tries to find its form.
BASS 2026 Projects:
BASS is an international artistic gathering promoted by the Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia (ESCAC), the Catalonia College of Music (ESMUC), and the Theatre Institute (Institut del Teatre).
