Inspired by Francis Ford Coppola’s (the film’s producer) concept of ‘live cinema’, this existential comedy turns the streets of San Francisco into the stage for a radically personal musical odyssey. Captured in a single unbroken shot, it follows in real time the steps of twin brothers—one a filmmaker, the other a musician—who talk, sing, and argue on their way to check on their dying poet father, who missed an appointment and is nowhere to be found. Performed spontaneously by the director’s own family, the journey moves from secret haunts of the Beat Generation straight to the core of their family wounds. Their urban trek stands as a vibrant testament to brotherhood, art as a refuge, and the city itself as a living, breathing soundscape.
