A film crew travels the roads and villages of northern Spain. They follow the clandestine journey of the Italian ethnomusicologists Cantacronache, who in the summer of 1961, during the fascist dictatorship, collected popular resistance songs: the voices of workers, intellectuals, and peasants. Now, through oral history, the original tapes and photos of that expedition, and current reinterpretations of that songbook, a dialogue is established between both journeys, forming an emotional and political geography of a territory where the wounds of the past remain open.
