NATIONAL PANORAMA – NATIONAL PREMIERE
At the Teide Observatory of the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands, an experiment unfolds: to translate the rhythms and vibrations of the cosmos into music. Guided by the voice and vision of electronic music pioneer Suzanne Ciani, the film journeys from Pythagoras’s “music of the spheres” and Kepler’s “universal symphony” to the compositions of William Herschel, discoverer of Uranus, and the research by astrophysicist John Beckman at the observatory itself. In parallel, leading experimental musicians from across continents transform planetary orbits, stellar fluctuations, and galactic rotations into a genuine space opera. Beyond its aesthetic fascination, their interpretations pose profound questions about how we listen to—and understand—the universe.
Cast: Suzanne Ciani, John Beckman, Midori Takada, Lydia Kavina, Pierre Bastien, Mateo Mena, Paloma Peñarrubia, Markus Breuss, Juan Belda, Samuel Aguilar, Suso Saiz.
