This portrait of Pablo Milanés, an essential voice of the Cuban Nueva Trova, is also an intimate dialogue between father and son, and a beautiful reckoning with the past. Filming begins on a summer morning in Madrid when the artist, already quite ill, calmly senses that the film will be a posthumous tribute. From there, the narrative moves between the fragility of an inevitable farewell and the greatness of a musical journey bound to the hopes and disenchantment of a generation that dreamed of changing the world. Navigating unconditional love, the emancipatory promise of the Revolution, and the contradictions of a turbulent era, the film transforms the pain of loss into a bridge for intergenerational connection.
Winner of the IndieMusic Award at the IndieLisboa International Independent Film Festival (2026).
