A journey through six decades of rock history seen through a discreet figure who was right at the center of the storm: producer, manager, and superstar confidant Peter Asher. Inspired by his acclaimed autobiographical cabaret-monologue, the film weaves together interviews, a generous selection of unreleased footage, and live performances to portray the talent of a visionary working behind the scenes. It traces his trajectory from massive success as half of the duo Peter and Gordon to his pivotal role as Head of A&R at Apple Records and producer for legends like Paul McCartney, James Taylor, Carole King, and Linda Ronstadt. Narrated in the first person, the documentary bridges the effervescence of 1960s London with the legendary California scene at The Troubadour, set to an extraordinary soundtrack.
