Catalan Premiere

Albert Serra, one of contemporary cinema’s most distinct auteurs, immortalizes the encounter between the legendary chanteuse and actress Ingrid Caven and the Banyoles-based musical collective Molforts. Filmed during a concert at the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord in Paris in early 2025, the film captures a cathartic and anarchic ritual. The camera approaches with devotion the face and dramatic gestures of the New German Cinema diva, highlighted by red tones and an atmosphere steeped in tragedy. Featuring a repertoire that connects songs of war, love, and youth with French and German verses written by Caven herself and her partner, writer Jean-Jacques Schuhl—and inspired as well by Goethe and Stéphane Mallarmé—Caven displays her magnetism in a constant crescendo. A radical, visually dazzling celebration of the avant-garde and the creative impulse.
