NATIONAL SHORT FILMS SECTION

The creation process of one of Snarky Puppy’s most ambitious projects: a magical collaboration with the prestigious Metropole Orkest. Over the course of seven recording sessions in Utrecht, an empty space is transformed into a true “musical wonderland,” with 74 musicians, hundreds of people wearing headphones, and eight compositions inspired by dreamlike experiences. With warmth and closeness, we witness Michael League’s first ideas in Japan, the arranging process in Berlin, the collective rehearsals with the orchestra, and the masterful conducting of Jules Buckley. A major artistic and technical challenge that explores the boundaries between jazz, funk, symphonic music, and global sounds, while standing as an ode to the spirit of collaboration.
