New addition to the line-up: ‘El Doble’, by Carlo Padial

Festival In-Edit adds a new addition to this year’s line-up with El Doble, the new audiovisual project by Carlo Padial, produced in collaboration with 3Cat.

Based on an idea by Carlos Bayona, El Doble shows what happens when Jordi Cubino –the popular 3Cat face behind shows like Eufòria and Zenit– decides to look for a double of his youthful alter ego, David Lyme, one of the prominent figures of 80s italo-disco and high-energy.

Focused on the casting process, training, and debut of the new David Lyme, the project transcends music to become a surreal and hilarious journey about identity, second chances, the passage of time, the music industry, and the legacy of the Sabadell Sound.

El Doble is, in short, a surreal reflection on fame, second chances, the overvaluation of nostalgia, and the fascinating difficulty of portraying someone who turns their true self into a total mystery.

The free screening of the documentary will take place on Sunday, November 1st at 9:00 PM.
