From October 29 to November 8, Mooby Aribau Cinemas in Barcelona will host the 24th edition of In-Edit. Here is a first preview of this year’s lineup!
The festival will open with a tribute to the legendary Marianne Faithfull, one of the most fascinating and resilient figures in rock history, who passed away last year. The opening night will feature Broken English, by Ian Forsyth and Jane Pollard, a groundbreaking cinematic portrait that captures the artist’s final performance and interview.
For the closing night, In-Edit will wrap up with Tamra Davis’s The Best Summer, a documentary capturing the golden era of 90s alternative rock. The film offers never-before-seen backstage footage and intimate interviews with bands like Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth, Foo Fighters, Pavement, Rancid, Beck, The Amps, and Bikini Kill.
Additionally, the festival reinforces its commitment to Catalan cinema with the presence of Carla Simón, who will present the short film Flamenco alongside dancer Rocío Molina, and Albert Serra, who will host the Catalan premiere of Seize moments de ma vie, focusing on German actress and singer Ingrid Caven and the group Molforts. Both filmmakers will be there in person to present their work.
As a major highlight of this edition, In-Edit and Sala Apolo are launching the first edition of the Apolo Award for Best Music Video, a new section dedicated to recognizing creative talent in this format. The winning project from the open call—closing on September 8—will be announced during the festival.
