The In-Edit Festival has concluded its 23rd edition with a very positive balance: 116 screenings over 11 days, more than 36,000 spectators, and forty sold-out sessions, with attendance exceeding 85% in most screenings. These figures confirm the success of an edition marked by more premieres, high-profile guests, and a diverse program that appealed to audiences of all ages.
During the festival, 72 titles were screened, including 17 world premieres, 4 European premieres, 24 national premieres, and 16 premieres in Catalonia. Documentaries highlighting iconic figures and bands such as Fugazi, Spinal Tap, Pauline Black, Harley Flanagan, Sun Ra, or Hermeto Pascoal, as well as musical journeys through Latin America with films like La salsa vive, Brasiliana, or La 42 –winner of the Best International Music Documentary Award– received great acclaim. Socially engaged documentaries also stood out, such as El canto de las manos by María Valverde, Audience Award winner, and Solo pienso en ti by Hugo de la Riva.
The festival hosted 132 guests, including directors and artists like Alba Flores, Carl Craig, Víctor Manuel, Harley Flanagan, Leiva, Joan Dausà, Michael League, Frank Scheffer, Isaki Lacuesta, Elena Molina, and María Valverde. Musical icons such as Joan Manuel Serrat also appeared in several documentaries, strengthening the festival’s connection to the music world.
Large venues, like Sala 5 at Mooby Aribau Cinemes with nearly 1,200 seats, hosted memorable nights with films including Flores para Antonio, Depeche Mode M, It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley, Hasta que me quede sin voz, La gran bogeria, and Tete, tocar lo invisible.
The In-Edit LAB program, dedicated to emerging talent and professional development in music documentaries, welcomed 391 attendees, reflecting the thriving audiovisual scene in the country. Additionally, the musical warm-ups before screenings, featuring performances by Ángel Molina, DJ2D2, Dani Vega, DJ Frank, and El Palmas, turned the sessions into unique experiences.
This 23rd edition cements In-Edit as a reference festival, capable of combining major premieres, social projects, emerging talent, and innovative musical experiences for audiences.
