Emerging from the programme supporting emerging projects and film productions by the In-Edit Festival and its production company In-Edit Films, in collaboration with the CaixaForum+ platform, the documentary Omega Wants to Dance has been selected as a candidate for Best Documentary, forming part of the 18th edition of the Gaudí Awards.
The film will compete among the 16 Catalan productions that, through an exhaustive process of analysis and voting, will be nominated for the Best Documentary award. The final verdict will be announced at the Premis Gaudí Gala on 8 February 2026 at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
In Omega Wants to Dance, filmmaker Ramon Tort explores the relationship between human beings and movement, delving into consciousness from a global perspective. The film, produced by In-Edit Films, in collaboration with CaixaForum+ and Konga Music Agency, has been selected for international festivals such as the prestigious DOC NYC in its Kaleidoscope Competition, the British Portobello Film Festival and the Italian Parma International Music Film Festival. It recently won the Excellent Award in the ARTE Docs selection at the EIDF (EBS International Documentary Festival) in Seoul.
This success reaffirms In-Edit Films‘ track record and the In-Edit Festival‘s commitment to promoting talent nationally and internationally within its In-Edit LAB programme. This year, the production has already been presented as part of the official programme of the In-Edit Festival, which celebrated its 23rd edition from 23 October to 2 November. Next February, the documentary film will arrive at CaixaForum+, a platform for the dissemination of culture and science promoted by the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation.
